Dennis Curran, watercolour artist, (http://www.denniscurran.com) lives in Sheet Harbour, NS. Dennis' interest in art began at an early age through pencil, charcoal and pen and ink drawing. He began painting in watercolour in 1994. He uses light and shadow to capture the exquisite beauty of land and sea, along with rich vivid colours. Dennis is currently president of "The Contemporary Art Society of Nova Scotia" and a member of "Atlantic Seabreeze Artists". In 2005, Dennis was awarded the "Louisa Letson prize" for his painting "Laundry Day" at the juried show of the Contemporary Art Society.

Ability Level: The workshop is WATERCOLOUR and recommended for painters who have at least beginner level experience with the medium.

Materials: Participants provide their own painting materials. Some seascape photos, (local scenes) provided for those who do not supply their own.

Friday, June 8

• 1:30 pm or later check in at Marquis of Dufferin

Saturday, June 9

• 8:00 -9:00 am Breakfast at the Marquis of Dufferin restaurant, your choice from the a la carte menu.
• 9:00 am Instruction begins at the nearby Balcolm Center, morning and afternoon breaks and snacks will be provided.

• 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm lunch will be provided at the Balcolm center

Paint a Seascape from your own photo or one provided. Dennis will instruct on the importance of composition.

• 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Dinner, three course dinner of your choice from our menu.

Saturday night accommodation included.

Sunday, June 10

• 8:00 am - 9:00 am Breakfast at the Marquis of Dufferin restaurant, your choice from the a la carte menu.
• 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Painting instruction continues at the Balcolm center
• Finish your painting - add the details
• Show and Tell - group discussion

Cancellation Policy Please keep in mind that we are a small property and last minute cancellations affect us greatly. There is no charge or cancellation fee if your reservation is cancelled more than seven (7) days before your scheduled arrival.
