Acrylic Painting and Hiking Retreat - Rambling with the Old Goat
May 25, 26 and 27th, 2007

|
Aspiring artists, join Dave Johnson, writer of Ramblings of an Old Goat newspaper column, on a hike along the rugged Eastern Shore coastline. Stop for a picnic lunch on a cliff overlooking the rolling Atlantic. Let the landscape be your muse as you explore the rocky shore line. Find your inspiration in the shapes of the driftwood, the sights and sounds of the sea birds and wildlife or the man made lighthouses lobster shacks and traps, or boats.

Details
Dave Johnson is an artist and writer living in Ecum Secum, NS. He was educated in England, then traveled through the middle East and Australia for two years. In 1964, he moved to Winnipeg, Canada, where he met his wife, Dianne. They moved to Nova Scotia in 1983, always looking for that special place by the ocean. In 1995, they discovered Ecum Secum, where the mystique of the ocean, the serenity and the natural beauty of the area inspired Dave to paint seascapes on rock, found objects or canvas. Dave exhibited at the 2006 Seaside Exhibition of the Arts in Sheet Harbour, NS.
